About Us

The Brazos Valley Council on Alcohol and Substance Abuse (BVCASA) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention and treatment of substance abuse.  BVCASA is the only non-profit organization in the Brazos Valley with comprehensive youth and adult programs, including DWI and DOEP classes, drug education, substance abuse and tobacco prevention for youth and adults, screening services, outpatient treatment for youth and adults, and residential and outpatient aftercare treatment for adults in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Substance Abuse Treatment Program.

Realizing our mission of providing quality substance abuse prevention, intervention, and treatment services leading to improved health, wellness, and security in the Brazos Valley is made possible with collaborative partnerships among schools, youth and religious organizations, healthcare, government agencies and law enforcement, media, local businesses, community organizations, foundations, clients, parents, and youth.

To ensure program effectiveness, BVCASA adheres to the professional competency standards set forth by the Texas Department of State Health Services and utilizes evidence based practice models in all of our prevention, intervention and treatment programs. Following these guidelines and selecting programs proven to be effective allows BVCASA to best utilize available resources and achieve greater community-wide impact.
